Hi, I’m Isaiah. I’m the chief creative muscle for Isaiah Hwang Design, a one-man independent design studio based in Orange County, CA. I work with education, high tech, non-profit, and independent clients across the world to tell their visual stories through design and photography. Since 2004, I have helped my clients successfully see their vision come to life through logo design, print design, apparel design, web design, photography, and print procurement.
I was drawn to art at an early age. In the third grade, I even had a few of my drawings shown at a local museum in Santa Clara, CA and it gave me motivation to pursue art as a career! Years later, I earned a BA in Graphic Design from San Jose State University (Go Spartans!).
I’m originally from the Bay Area and I enjoy cheering on my hometown Warriors, Niners, and Giants. In my free time, I love hiking, cycling, outdoor adventures, and eating delicious food with my wife. Often times, I may be simultaneously researching outdoor gear (Conquer Your Gear) and the best donut shops. Shout out to Stan’s Donuts in Santa Clara, CA!

MY PROCESS
All projects go through 4 phases:
PHASE 1: DESIGN BRIEF
The design brief helps me understand the client and the objective of the project. We unpack the who, what, when, where, and why so we can be successful working together.
PHASE 2: RESEARCH, BRAINSTORMING, & SKETCHING
This step allows me to discover the best solution to the design problem at hand. Once the research and brainstorming phase is complete, I explore design solutions through sketching so I can quickly see if an idea is strong or not. Designs are eliminated until the best and strongest options are revealed.
PHASE 3: RENDERING & PRESENTATION
Upon determining the best solutions, I render the strongest designs and present the polished proof to the client.
PHASE 4: CHANGES OR FINAL TOUCHES
Based on feedback and further discussions, final touches are made and the project is delivered to the client.
